Krešimir Brckan graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture. He is a certified mechanical engineer.

At the beginning of his professional career, he was engaged in construction and maintenance supervision and non-destructive testing of power plants and industrial facilities components.

In the last 15 years he specialized in the field of maintenance and asset management consulting. He has led a number of projects for establishing and re-engineering organization and business processes in the field of maintenance, introduction of integral maintenance management systems and implementation of business information systems for asset management in companies from the energy sector, oil and gas sectors, food industry, utility sector (district heating, water and wastewater, waste management), as well as in public administration and scientific - educational institutions.

He is a leader of the National Energy Management Information System (EMIS) project in the public sector buildings of the Republic of Croatia and a leader of implementation of this system in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Malaysia.

He is an occasional professional lecturer at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture at the University of Zagreb and at the Technical Polytechnic of Zagreb in courses from the field of maintenance and IT management. Both as co-author and independently, he published several scientific and professional papers and held a series of lectures at specialized international conferences in the field of asset and maintenance management.
